SUPER HEROES RUN MAY 15th 2011 REGENTS PARK

Chairty Run Photograph

The Doitforcharity.com Super Hero run is a fantastic running event taking place in London on Sunday 15th May 2011.

Over 1,000 people are expected to take part raising funds for hundreds of different charities and now this is your chance to support your favourite charity – ACTION ETHIOPIA- they are counting on your support!

Many of you supported the 5 KM Santa Run in December and we thank you for that. Unfortunately, this was cancelled due to icy conditions. Some of the runners from the December race are determined to run for the donations you gave, in the Super Hero Run on May 15.

We still need a bit more to reach our original target. Can you help us do so? Maybe also go and cheer them on May 15th in Regents Park. Hopefully the weather will be kinder.

THE 2010 Action Ethiopia Sponsored 5k Christmas run

Action Ethiopia Christmas Run 2010

If you have ever wanted to get involved in a 5km run, here is your chance.  On Sunday 5th December at Greenwich Park, London, around 1,000 ‘Santa’s’ are expected to take part, raising over £100,000!  Action Ethiopia (in association with 'DoitforCharity.com) are looking for volunteers to take part and you can be part of this fantastic event with just a small registration fee and raising the suggested minimum sponsorship.

No previous experience is required and with a bit of training the 5km distance should easily be within your capabilities. The spirit of the event is 'taking part' not 'winning' so you can run, jog or walk - you decide!

With places extremely limited you should book early to avoid disappointment! You can book up online here.

PAST EVENTS:

THE VIRGIN 2010 LONDON MARATHON

JENNY TELLS US HOW IT WENT:

Sunday went REALLY well, had so much fun, the atmosphere as usual was amazing, there were supporters on every inch of the course, with bands, dancers, musicians everything you could possibly imagine, they really got me round! My aim was to beat my previous time of 4.31 and I did, I finished in 4.24 so over the moon about that! The first 13miles went really quickly, I ran with the record breaking caterpillar of 34 runners joined together and Richard Branson….the only thing was I didnt realise it was him until I finished and watched the news!!

Up to 20miles was ok, then it started to REALLY hurt, but the crowds by then were huge and got me to the line…which much to my horror they had moved back by about 200m from when I did it before! Work on Monday was interesting as moving was an optional extra but nearly fully recovered now :-)

I have raised just over a £1,000 which will hopefully go some way to helping the water project in Ethiopia, hopefully there will be a little bit more coming in over the next few days.

Jenny has her own fundraising page for this event here. Please logon to lend your support and sponsor Jenny.

H2O WALK FOR WATER

Walk for Water CampaignTHEMED SPONSORED WALKS IN AID OF SUNARMA

Action Ethiopia have teamed up with Creative Orchestra to publicize an unusual approach to sponsored walks.

The main aim of the campaign is to draw attention how valuable water is in Africa and to help raise funds for African Water Projects.

The starting idea is that you start at a place beginning with H and you end up at a place beginning with O. This could simply be from Home to Office, but there is alot of opportunity to get creative. Click the picture to find out more.

If you are interested in doing an H2O Walk, email us and let us know so we can send you a support pack.

Start your own campaign!

Every year many people set up their own fundraising projects in the UK to support Sunarma. We are pleased to provide support and advice to get you going.

Please email us to let us know what you are up to. We would be pleased to feature your campaign on our website along with others. To help you with setting up the fundraising we work with Justgiving where you can set up your own customisable Sunarma fundraising page linked directly to your campaign - see link below.

Click to go to JustgivingJustgiving take nearly all the hard work out of the process: Click on the link, and you will be taken to the Justgiving website where you can set up your own fundraising page to raise funds for Sunarma. The site takes care of all the payment details and even organises claiming back Gift Aid for you.

FUN CAMPAIGNS IN AID OF SUNARMA:
